Alton Jordin Armstrong, 65, of Johnson's Mill Road, died Aug. 4, 1993, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. 

Mr. Armstrong, a native of Midland in Fauquier County, Va., was the son of the late Lester Jennings and Lillie Bell Hewitt Armstrong. He was a self-employed contractor and was a Baptist. 

Survivors include his wife, Virginia McMillion Armstrong; four daughters, Virginia J. Gross and Linda Fraley, both of Portsmouth, Susan Williams of Franklin and Deborah Armstrong of Sedley; two sisters; seven brothers; and eight grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park , Franklin. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and Friday.
