Obituary of Donald Kent Aston DONALD KENT ASTON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 10, 2006 SUFFOLK - Donald Kent Aston, 71, passed away Jan. 8, 2006, surrounded by his family. Donald retired after 32 years of service from Planters Peanuts. He was a native of Nansemond County. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and attended Bethlehem Christian Church. Donald was an avid gardener and loved woodworking. He was a U.S. Army veteran after serving during the Korean conflict. Donald was the son of the late Lee Andrew and Gercia Twiford Aston. He was also predeceased by a sister, Norma Brown; three brothers, Lee Aston Jr., Towe Twiford Aston and Benjamin Aston; and a son-in-law, David Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 52 Years, Pansy Talton Aston; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda A. and John Charles (Chuck) Boyce, Donna A. and Tommy Pruitt Jr. and Denna A. and Delaine Babb, all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Heather Thompson, Jonathan Donald Thompson, Michael Boyce and Christine Pruitt; brother, Carl Aston and his wife Wanda of Sunbury, N.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parr Funeral Home. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Gardner and the Rev. Dan Wickert will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Christian Church Memorial Fund, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. The family will be gathering at Bethlehem Christian Church after the service for further time of fellowship.
