She was a native of Gates County, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident for 52 years. Mrs. Babb was a member of Noland Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Nivison of Newport News; a son, Millard Babb of Newport News; two sisters, Sadie S. Howell of Suffolk and Etta S. Howell of Eure, N.C.; a brother, Harvey L. Smith of Suffolk; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Peninsula Funeral Home by the Rev. Herbert Seemann.
