Obituary of George Louis Babb GEORGE LOUIS BABB Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 16, 2003 SUFFOLK - George Louis Babb, 85, of the 1100 block of Myrtle St., died Sept. 14, 2003 in Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, Va., he retired after 25 years with the civil service and also retired from Obici Hospital with 25 years in the maintenance department. Mr. Babb was the widower of Blanche O. Byrd Babb and a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. He was the son of the late George A. Babb and Naomi Ashley Babb and was also predeceased by a daughter, Louise B. Capps; sons-in-law, Chester M. Capps and Melvin R. Warren; three sisters, Susie B. Gardner, Cornelia B. Russell and Gladys B. Powell; and five brothers, Lycurgus Babb, Paul Babb, Oscar Babb, Herman Babb and Herbert Babb. Survivors include his daughter, Linda B. Warren of Suffolk; grandchildren, Mark L. and Jennifer Capps of Franklin, Va., William "Clark" and Michelle Capps of Suffolk, Keith and Amy Warren of Virginia Beach and Michael and Michele Warren of Gatesville, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Erin, Sarah, Tyler Capps and Dillon and Madison Warren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home by Dr. John R. Kimball. Interment will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
