She was born in Franklin and was a member of South Quay Baptist Church. Joanne was predeceased by her father, Joe S. Padgett; her stepfather, Bobby Campbell; and a brother, Joe D. Padgett. Survivors include her husband, Ronnie F. Babb; her son, Matthew F. Babb of Courtland; her mother, Lelia Padgett Campbell; one brother, Joel K. Padgett; a special aunt, Rose Byrd, all of Suffolk; and her faithful companion, Casper. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at South Quay Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest memorials be made to the American Heart Association, c/o June Duck, 27351 Delaware Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
