Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph Ray and Mattie Louise Hoggard Ray. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Susan D. Moore. Mrs. Babb was a retired electric eye operator for Birdsong Peanut Co. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Frank ''Bud'' Babb; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn B. and Earl White and Lisa B. and Todd Pope; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank E. Babb Jr., Charles S. ''Buddy'' and Brenda T. Babb and Thomas J. and Judy B. Babb, all of Suffolk; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Sarah T. Hampton and Jacqueline R. Newell, both of Suffolk. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Raymond Hampton.
