SUFFOLK - Margaret Babb Baines, 75, of Turlington Road, died May 3, 2001.
A native of Nansemond County, Mrs. Baines retired from the Lipton Tea Co. after 29 years. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church and the Day Circle. She was also a member of the former Agnes Brittle Circle of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. She was the daughter of the late William Leroy Babb and Carolina Elizabeth Duke Babb and the widow of William Leroy Baines.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Alice B. and Charles E. Babb of Suffolk; grandchildren, Becky B. and Timmy Byrd of Suffolk, Troy and Tennie Babb of Suffolk and Todd and Elizabeth Babb of Gatesville, N.C.; sister, Evelyn B. DeGregory of Reno, Nev., Inez B. Myane of Suffolk; great-grandchildren, Trent and Travis Byrd, Billy and Hunter Babb; and step great-grandchildren, William Giles and Crystal Stuart.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hill Funeral Home by Dr. John Kimball and Pastor Michael Brinkley. Burial will be in Liberty Spring Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may join family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter at 465 Babbtown Road, Suffolk.
