SUFFOLK Grace Bailey Holland, 93, widow of Dr. Gilmer G. Holland, died Monday, May 12, 1997. A native of Buckingham County, she was a daughter and the last of eight children of the late William Elam Bailey and Martha Jane Pugh Bailey.
Mrs. Holland was an active member of Holland Christian United Church of Christ for many years, a graduate of State Teachers College in Farmville and a retired teacher in the Nansemond County School System. She was a volunteer for Obici Auxiliary for many years and was a charter member of the Suffolk chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane H. Prince of Emporia; son, Gilmer G. Holland Jr. of Northfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Holland Cemetery by the Rev. Lawrence Walser. Memorial donations may be made to Holland Christian United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 7097, Suffolk, Va. 23437. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is in charge.
