Mr. Bailey, a native of Como, N.C., was a son of the late Robert Granville and Ida Belle Stephenson Bailey. An Army veteran of World War II, he had retired as a welder at Franklin Equipment Co. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and the Forks of the River Hunt Club. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ethel Marie Bailey; a son, Robert Granville ``Robbie'' Bailey III and his wife, Kelly, of Sedley; a stepson, Charles Bernard ``Jack'' Holt and his wife, Jennie, of Wakefield; a sister, Ruth B. Dunlow of Franklin; a brother, James D. Bailey of Carrsville; six grandchildren, Chris and Kim Holt, Casey Bailey, Ashley Avent, Candice Bailey and Robert Granville Bailey IV. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
