SEDLEY - Ada Lee Baker Faison, 86, widow of Benjamin "Woody" Faison,
died April 12 at her residence.
Born in Nash County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late
James Lunce and Mattie Edwards Baker. Ada Lee was a longtime area
beautician with the Town and Country Hair Salon and a member of the
Hairdresser's Association. She was a former longtime member and
children's Sunday school teacher at Franklin Baptist Church before
moving to Sedley and joining Sedley Baptist Church, where she was a
member of the Ladies Bible Class and WMU. Ada Lee was a proud member
of the Pythians.
Survivors include two daughters, Judi F. Darden and husband James
"Bro" of Richmond and Susan F. Rice and husband Charles of
Valentines; one grandchild, Jamie Darden; four sisters, Naomi Clay,
Margaret Williams, Bobbie Reaves and husband Frank and Sande Caudle;
and one brother, Thomas Baker and wife Jenny.
Mrs. Faison was predeceased by three sister, Letha Harris, Luna
Ingram and Vivian Harrison; and eight brothers, Edward, Moses,
Linwood, Seth, Jerry, Hector, Jackie and Omega Baker.
A funeral was conducted April 14 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev.
Armand Jalbert officiating. Burial followed in Rosemont Cemetery. The
family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral
home. Memorials may be made to Sedley Baptist Church, 17494 Johnson's
Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878.
