Branch IVOR - Joseph Mayton Branch, 76, died Dec. 27, 2002, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was a native of Southampton County and was one of six children of the late Fenton and Hattie Raiford Branch. Mr. Branch was a retired welder, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Corinth Friends Meeting. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sarah M. Branch; a son, Mayton Branch of Windsor; a sister, Katherine Beale of Black Creek; and two granddaughters. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Corinth Friends Meeting with Pastors Ken and Pat Thames officiating. Burial will follow in Ivor Cemetery . Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Charles Meakin of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Irma Odom of Conway, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Abby Meakin of Greensboro.
