Mabel Jones, 94, no service planned
Mabel Barrett Jones, 94 of Morehead City, died Sunday, December 4th,
2005 at Century Care of Crystal Coast.
Mrs. Jones was married to the late Clifford Foy Jones. She graduated
from Elon College and earned a master's degree in Library Science from
UNC Chapel Hill, where she was employed until her retirement. The
daughter of Missionaries, the late David Barrett and the late Eva
Barrett, Mrs. Jones was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and lived there until
she went to college. She was a member of the Davie Poplar chapter of the
Daughters of American Revolution and the Samuel Swan chapter of the
National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century.
She is survived by a daughter, Olyn J. "Skip" Schnibben of Morehead
City, a son Mell Barrett Jones of Mocksville, three grandchildren;
Gerhardt Frederick Schnibben of Charleston, S.C., Regan Leanne Jones and
Tata Denise Jones of Mocksville.
Arrangements were by Capital Funeral Home and Cremation Society of the
Carolinas.
