Mrs. Batta was a native of New York. She was retired from Jones-Hayes Company in Franklin and was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mary S. Johnson of Mechanicsville, Va.; three sons, Andrew E. Sipiczky of Courtland , Robert P. Sipiczky of Arcadia, Fla., and Daniel Batta Jr. of Severna Park, Md.; a sister, Elizabeth L. Lang of Norfolk; a brother, William Laslow of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Andrew Sipiczky. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. John Wimer officiating. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 101 W. Plume St., Norfolk, Va. 23510, or a favorite charity.
