Obituary of GLADYS LOWE BEATON The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - April 11, 1995 Gladys Lowe Beaton, 84, of the 200 block of W. Constance Road, died April 10, 1995, in Hillhaven-Nansemond Nursing Center. Born in Southampton County, she was a Baptist and the widow of George Crawley Beaton. She was retired as a nurse's aide from Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. Survivors include three daughters, Alice B. Kirk, Lucille B. White and Bonnie B. Bracey, all of Suffolk; two sons, Carlton B. Beaton of Shipshewana, Ind., and George C. Beaton of Sanford, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha Bunch Lowe and James Lowe and a son, Bobby Edward Beaton. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Clyde D. Nuckols Sr. The family will receive friends at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at other times at 110 Northgate Lane, Suffolk.
