OLEAN B. JONES

Olean Bell Jones, 65, died Dec. 30, 1998. 

Born April 23, 1933, in Chattanooga, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late John Porter and Leola Mullinax Bell. Mrs. Jones worked as a licensed registered nurse for 39 years. She was a shift supervisor for the East Pavilion of Southampton Memorial Hospital and retired in 1993. She was a member of the Virginia Nurses Association. Mrs. Jones attended Franklin Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School class. 

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert L. Jones; two sons, Robert L. Jones Jr. of Richmond and John V. Jones of Hollywood, Md.; five sisters, Marjorie Bump and Patsy Morrison, both of Statesville, N.C., Carolyn Gossett of Gaffney, S.C., Linda DeTitta of Boone, N.C., and Dorothy Trusdale of Salisbury, N.C.; two brothers, John P. Bell Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Grady T. Bell of Gaffney, S.C. She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. 

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roy E. DeBrand, the Rev. Sharon E. James, the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. James W. Browder III officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and suggests that memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 208 North High St., Franklin, Va. 23851.
