William Bryant Blount, 20, died Oct. 16, 1998. 

Born Aug. 26, 1978 in Franklin, he was predeceased by his father, William H. ``Buddy'' Blount III. He was employed as a mechanic with Austin Motorcycle Shop and was a member of the Courtland Volunteer Fire Department. 

Bryant is survived by his mother, Susan C. Newman Blount; a sister, Mary K. Frederick of York, Pa.; and a brother, Roger F. Crouse of Bethel, N.C. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Blount. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorials be made to the Courtland Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 349, Courtland , Va. 23837.
