SUFFOLK - Allie Blue Habel, 88, died March 10, 2000, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News.
Born in Moore County, N.C., she was the daughter of Daniel Alphonso Blue and Berta Bryant Blue,, and was the widow of Dr. James M. Habel, Jr.
A devoted wife and mother, she was a member of West East End Baptist Church, the American Camellia Society and the Riverside Garden Club. She attended Elon College and was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing.
She is survived by three children, Allie Blue Habel Everett of Virginia Beach, Sue Habel Green of Newport News and James M. Habel, III of Suffolk; seven grandchildren, Virginia L. Everett, Ann Clayton Everett, Heather D. Green, Ashley L. Green, Danielle L. Green, James M. Habel IV and Tucker R. Habel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. The family will be at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to West End Baptist Church or the American Camellia Society at 100 Massee Lane, Fort Valley, GA 31030
