Blythe, died April 1, 2006. Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Lillie Idonia Carr and was a member of Antioch Church. Survivors include one daughter, Earlene J. Griffin and husband Joe of Suffolk; two sons, Robert L. Johnson Jr. and wife Pat of Suffolk and Earl R. Johnson and wife Amanda of Windsor; four stepsons, R. Dale Blythe, Donnie O. Blythe, S. Carl Blythe, Jerome K. Blythe; eight grandchildren, Janet (Mark) Luter, Troy (Martha) Griffin, Jennifer (Gene) Groves, Rhonda (Tom) Caufield, Janine (Chip) Joyner, Melinda (Eddie) Stevenson, Judith (Frankie) Hasty and Sherry (Paul) Garris; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by her first husband, Robert L. Johnson Sr.; three sisters; and nine brothers. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Webb and the Rev. Michael Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Earlene and Joe Griffin, 5964 Indian Trail.
