IVOR - Gladys Blythe Wade, 76, died July 28, 2001, at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital in Suffolk.
Born in Southampton County on Oct. 3, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John T. Blythe and Lucy Turner Blythe. She had worked as a cashier for K&S Grocery Store in Ivor, was a member of Ivor Baptist Church, and was the loving wife of the late Junius L. Wade.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her devoted son, Ronald J. Wade of Ivor; four grandchildren, Tony McCausley, Teresa McCausley, Sean Wade and Jaclyn Wade; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jessie Owens of Portsmouth. She was the mother of the late Joyce McCausley.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, with the Rev. Larry Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Vol. Rescue Squad, Ivor, VA 23866 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2547, Virginia Beach, VA 23450-2547.
