He was a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ and was a retired farmer. He was the son of the late Dan Blythe and Bessie M. Blythe of Southampton County. He was predeceased by two brothers, Emerson L. Blythe and D.C. Blythe. Survivors include two nieces, Betty B. Darden of Franklin and Carolyn A. Willman of Suffolk; a nephew, Robert Earl Blythe of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Mildred Carter of Franklin; four great-nieces, Angela C. Jeffries, Kelley Willman, Amy Blythe and Kimberly Blythe; two great-nephews, John D.
