FRANKLIN - Marjorie Blythe "Pete" Cobb, 79, died April 18, 2003. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Nettie Joyner Blythe and a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Herman Cobb; two daughters, Joan Cobb Shields and her husband R.E. "Butch" Shields Jr. and Nita Carol Cobb all of Franklin; a son, Anthony "Amp" Cobb and his wife Beth of Franklin; three sisters, Bernice B. Dunn and Rebie B. Harrison both of Franklin and Frances B. Clements of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Jamie Cobb, Jessica Cobb, Joanna Cobb, Jason Cobb, Adam Shields and Katie Shields. She was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorials be made to Hunterdale UCC, 741 Hunterdale Road, Franklin or Bethel Friends Meeting, c/o Mary White, P.O. Box 116, Franklin, VA 23851.
