Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, December 16, 2001 

Vina Blythe Overby, 91, died Dec. 15, 2001, at the East Pavilion. Born in Southampton County, Mrs. Overby was one of 12 children of the late Charlie Blythe and Sweetie Lee Blythe. She was the widow of George Clinton Overby and a member of Courtland Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia O. Lowe and husband, Cecil of Franklin; five sisters, Virgie Harrison of Norfolk, Lola Bass of Courtland , Janice Hollowell of Franklin, Claris Graham of Portsmouth, and Doris Holt of South Carolina; a brother, Cary Blythe of Courtland ; two grandchildren, Lori L. Drake and husband, Lindy, and David B. Lowe and wife, Kimberly, all of Franklin; three great-grandchildren, Cecil Lowe, Josh Lowe, and Hillary Drake; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Wilson, Stella Richardson and Shirley March; and two brothers, Edgar Blythe and Morris Blythe. 

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Speight. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery , Courtland . The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and requests that memorials be made to Courtland Baptist Church, 22416 Main St., Courtland , VA 23827.
