ADRIAN BOLTON DRAKE

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 20, 1997

 Mrs. Adrian Bolton Drake, 80, a lifelong resident of Boykins, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. 
She was the widow of Hugh D. Drake Sr. and the daughter of Hersey Albert and Queenie Porter-Bolton. Mrs. Drake retired from Southampton Hospital after 20 years as an LPN in the hospital nursery. She was an active, 69-year member of Boykins Baptist Church, serving as a choir member and president and teacher of the LLL Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Tarrara Women's Club and a Boykins cancer support group. 
Mrs. Drake is survived by her daughter, Martha D. Holland and husband, Kellie, of Windsor; sons, Herbert D. Drake of Portsmouth, Hugh Darrow Drake Jr. and wife, Laura Chester; grandchildren, Debra D. Milteer and husband, Doug, Kimberly D. Morris and husband, Ricky, Anita D. Colby and husband, Jeff, Wesley Darrell Drake, and Tracy Lynn Drake; sister, Mildred B. Lassiter of Boykins; and six great-grandchildren. 
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. Benjamin Thomas. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins. Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Baptist Church or Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad.
