George Talmadge Bowden Jr., 67, of the 100 block of S. Broad St., died May 6, 1992, in a Norfolk hospital.  
Mr. Bowden was born in Isle of Wight County. He was a retired Texaco distributor with Kimberly Oil Co. He had served in the merchant marine during World War II. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and a former member of Bethlehem Ruritan Club.  
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dilday Bowden; a daughter, Susan B. Neri of Suffolk; a son, G. Talmadge Bowden III of Smithfield; two sisters, Jane B. Jones of Suffolk and Jule B. Eason of Nags Head; and four grandchildren.  
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Merle Correll. Friends may join the family at the residence. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements.  
Memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church Building Fund or Nansemond-Suffolk Resuce Squad.
