Virginia Catherine Fox Bowen, 79, died Jan. 23, 2004. Mrs. Bowen was a
native of Emporia and was a daughter of the late Jethro Ward and Kate
Collins Fox. She was retired from Bradys Jewel Box and was a member of
Franklin Baptist Church and its Faithful Sunday school class.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Carl Leon Bowen Jr.; a son,
Ward Leon Bowen of Cary, N.C.; and a sister, Lucille Fox Gibson of
Kentucky. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jethro Ward Fox Jr. and
Ryland Collins Fox.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Franklin
Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Childress and the Rev. Dr. Ira
D. Hudgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N. High St., Franklin, VA 23851. Wright
Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
