Quay Road, a retired bridge tender, died March 25, 1992, in his home. Mr. Boyce was born in Chowan County, N.C. He was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church and the American Legion. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Griffin Boyce; three daughters, Virginia Watkins of Norfolk, Geraldine Williams of Chesapeake and Barbara Johnson of Franklin; two sons, Ricky Boyce of Suffolk and Patrick Boyce of Como, N.C.; his mother, Pearl M. Boyce, and a sister, Nell Kockler, both of Elizabeth City; four brothers, Robert Boyce and Richard Boyce, both of Elizabeth City, Charles Boyce of Hampton and George Boyce Jr. of South Hill; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Henry Pillow. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park , Franklin.
