Obituary of Larry Marvin Branch LARRY MARVIN BRANCH Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 13, 2002 Larry Marvin Branch, 53, of Jackson Road, died Jan. 12, 2002, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Suffolk, he retired as an electrician from the Thomas J. Lipton Co. He was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church, Suffolk Moose Lodge No. 141, the Suffolk Masonic Lodge No. 30, the U.F.W. Chapter No. 2582 and the T.P.A. Post "P". He was also an honorary member of the Suffolk Ruritan Club, in which he was named Ruritan of the Year in 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was also a recipient of the Purple Heart award. He was the son of the late John Linwood "Buck" Branch Jr. Survivors include sons, Richard Craig Branch and wife Beth, John Rushton Branch, Jeremy Lewis Branch, Brennan Colby Branch, all of Suffolk; mother, Edith Hill Billingsley of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Bryan Austin Branch and Autumn Destiny Branch, both of Suffolk; a sister, Nancy B. Baines and husband Benny of Suffolk; and brother, Kenneth H. Branch and wife Jane of Scotland Neck, N.C. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. Sallye Hardy and Chaplain Tommy Reynolds. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors and Masonic rites. Friends may join the family today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home, 447 W. Washington St., Suffolk, and other times at the residence of Nancy Baines, 220 Little Fork Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
