Obituary of PAUL BRANCH The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - July 17, 1993 Paul Branch, 81, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Friday, July 16, 1993, at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a retired farmer and a trustee and former elder of the Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor. He was a 41-year member of Ivor Ruritan Club; director of Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Southampton, Sussex and Surry; and served for three terms on the Southampton County Assessment Board. He was the son of the late Henry and Fannie Raiford Branch. He is survived by his wife, Emma Lea Powell Branch; one daughter, Paula Branch Cross of Schoolcraft, Mich.; three sons, Paul Wayne Branch, Randal Bryan Branch and Royce Craber Branch, all of Ivor; three sisters, Julia Branch of Ivor, Ruth B. Duncan of Smithfield and Mary B. Sherard of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Corinth Friends Meeting by David Hobson, assisted by Herschel Hill and Cafer Marley. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends at their residence, 33555 Quaker Road, Ivor. Purviance Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
