Virginia Hazelette Brantley, 80, died at her home in Ivor on Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. 

Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of Robert Everette and Huldah Ann Parker Hazelette and the widow of Thomas Holt Brantley. She was a homemaker and member of Ivor United Methodist Church. 

Mrs. Brantley is survived by a son, Robert Joseph Owens and his wife, Rebecca Cornwell Owens of Ivor; a brother, Edward Parker Hazelette and his wife, Peggy O'Neal Hazelette of Suffolk; grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Owens, Robert Neil Owens and Wendy Owens Bass; and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Leigh Bass. 

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, with the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan and the Rev. Steve Bradshaw officiating. Interment will be in Ivor Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad, Ivor, Va. 23866.
