Winifred Clements Edwards Brinkley, 78, of the 3700 block of Carolina Road, a retired saleswoman, died Oct. 9, 1992, in a nursing home. 
Mrs. Brinkley was born in Isle of Wight County. She retired from Brewer Jewelry Co. after 28 years. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. 
Survivors include her husband, Norfleet Jordan Brinkley; three sons, Stewart Brinkley of Burlington, N.C., and Lynn Brinkley and Michael K. Brinkley, both of Suffolk; three sisters, Chloe C. Edwards and Ethel C. Gwaltney, both of Suffolk, and Evelyn C. Hopkins of Portsmouth; five stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. 
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Cypress Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. John R. Kimball and the Rev. Willis I. Dowling. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hill Funeral Home and also at the residence.
