Obituary of Narvie Frank Britt Sr. NARVIE FRANK BRITT SR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 26, 2003 Narvie Frank Britt Sr., 83, passed away Sept. 25, 2003 at his son's home. His loving family including his son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Fredia McClung Britt of Ivor, were by his side. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Walter G. Britt and Ruth Bailey Britt. Mr. Britt was a retired farmer, president of Tucker Swamp Hunt Club, a charter member of Ivor Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and a lover of hunting and fishing. He and his wife, Sarah Alma Britt, were married 50 years. Narvie is also survived by three sisters, Leah Atkinson and husband Leonard, Joyce Turner and husband Ernest and Bernice Goodrich and husband Fenton; brother, Dempsey Britt and wife Becky; sisters-in-law, Alice Britt Oakes and Sue Britt. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gurnie Britt and Walter Junius Britt. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, with the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. Interment will follow in Ivor Cemetery . The family will receive friends today at Ivor Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at a reception to be held at the fellowship hall immediately following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad or Ivor Volunteer Fire Dept. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
