ISLE OF WIGHT - Ruby Fowler Britt, 82, of Zuni died Monday, Feb. 4, in Goodrich Nursing Home, Wakefield.
She was a native of Southampton County. Mrs. Britt was a retired employee of Peebles Department Store, Wakefield.
She was an active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, where she had taught the Primary Sunday School class for more than 50 years. Mrs. Britt was a member of the church choir and the Woman's Missionary Society.
Survivors include a son, Roger H. Britt of Waverly; and a stepgrandson, Aubrey Edwards Jr. of Waverly.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church by the Revs. J. Waverly Horne and Steve Bradshaw. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad or Ivor Volunteer Fire Department, Ivor 23866.
