SUFFOLK Virgie Odell Brock Traylor, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in the Eastern Star Home in Richmond.
A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Lazarus and Ella Bradshaw Brock was the widow of Herbert L. Traylor, Jr.
Mrs. Traylor retired from C.& P. Telephone Co. after more than 40 years as a service representative. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Formerly taught the Young People Sunday School class for 45 years, was past president of the Womens Missionary Auxiliary and past worthy matron of Sinai Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a member of the Suffolk Pioneers, Suffolk Womans Club and the Christian Womans Club.
Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Emily Brock, Ruby Knight and Jane Traylor; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson and the Rev. Jack Jernigan, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home.
