Obituary of Russell Everett Brothers RUSSELL EVERETTE BROTHERS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - March 11, 2000 Russell Everett Brothers of East Pavilion, a retired teacher in the Suffolk Public Schools, died March 10, 2000. Born Nov. 22, 1906, in Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Lee and Louise Mumford Everett, widow of William Quentin Brothers Sr. and mother of the late William Quentin Brothers Jr. Mrs. Brothers was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a life member of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her daughters, Polly Brothers Simpson and her husband, Henry G. Simpson of Suffolk, Dale Brothers Birdsong and her husband, William M. Birdsong Jr. of Franklin; nine grandchildren, William Q. Brothers III, Renee Brothers, Jeanine Brothers, Dale S. Hall, Henry G. Simpson Jr., Dr. Mary Quentin S. Barnes, William M. Birdsong III, Everett B. Birdsong, Christine B. White; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Main Street United Methodist Church, Suffolk, by the Rev. Dr. Alan Felumlee. Following the service, there will be a reception and visitation in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker & Co.
