Bryant, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital in Suffolk. Judy'' as she was known by her family and friends, was a resident of Ivor, Va. She was born Jan. 2, 1917 to the late Henry and Cora Thompson formerly of Amelia County, Va. Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and a member of Ivor Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Elliott R. ``Bud'' Bryant. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Preston O. Ferrell of Severn, Md.; one grandson, Raymond Ferrell of Ellicott City, Md.; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alicia and Roman Ferrell; and her brother, Henry O. Thompson of Farmville, Va. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, with the Rev. Steve Gupton officiating. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Baptist Church or Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad.
