Obituary of ELLIOTT R. BRYANT JR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 2, 1997 Elliott R. "Bud" Bryant Jr., 82, of Bell Ave., died Dec. 31, 1996, at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. A lifelong resident of Ivor, he was the son of the late Elliott R. and Emma Christine Crumpler Bryant. He was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation with 31 years' service and he was a member of the Ivor United Methodist Church and Woodman of the World. He was a former employee of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Judy" Thompson Bryant; a son, Preston O. Ferrell of Glen Burnie, Md.; a brother, Franklin N. Bryant of Hampton; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Dorothy Strader and Margaret Daughtrey. A funeral will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Ivor United Methodist Church or the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad.
