Mrs. Bryant, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, was a daughter of the late Ezra and Clara Bell Gray Bryant and the widow of J. Walter Bryant Sr. She was a member of the Boykins United Methodist Church and the Boykins Cancer Support Group. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Rae Hill of Boykins; three sons, J. Walter Bryant Jr. of Little Washington, N.C., Lloyd R. Bryant and Raymond L. Bryant, both of Boykins; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. A committal service will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
