RICHMOND  Carolyn Burruss Owen, 96, formerly of Sedley and a native of Spotsylvania County, died June 12. She was the widow of Joseph D. Owen.

  Survivors include her son, Joe of San Francisco, Harold of Courtland and Edward of Richmond; her daughter, Carole Shereda of Brevard; four grandsons; a granddaughter; a step-granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
  A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, Saturday at 3 p.m. friends may visit at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Friday between 7 and 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a memorial contribution to Grace Memorial Methodist Church or to Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, Sedley, Va. 23878.
