Obituary of Edwin Lynn Byrum EDWIN LYNN BYRUM Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 31, 2000 Edwin Lynn Byrum, 81, died Dec. 30, 2000, at Nansemond Pointe in Suffolk. Mr. Byrum, a native of Edenton, was a son of the late Eli Thomas and Ida Pierce Byrum. He was a longtime Isle of Wight County farmer and a member and trustee of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mabel Forehand Byrum; a daughter, Ida Myrth DeJarnette and her husband, Bryant, of Carrsville; a brother, W. Ray Byrum of Edenton; two granddaughters, Lynnette D. Mitchem and her husband, Mike, of Mathews County, Va., and Jennifer D. Rose and her husband, John, of Suffolk; a great-granddaughter, Lauren E. Mitchem; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Byrum was predeceased by eight sisters and two brothers, Mattie T. Byrum, Ira M. Byrum, Mildred M. Byrum, Mona B. Hoffler, Edna B. Privott, Jessie B.
