Obituary of Bobby Joe Campbell BOBBY JOE CAMPBELL Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, February 3, 2003 SUFFOLK - Bobby Joe Campbell, 69, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003. Mr. Campbell was born in Marion, S.C., was an Army veteran and had retired as an equipment operator for the Woodlands Division of Union Camp Corporation after 21 years of service. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and its Men's Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, Lelia Brewer Campbell; his mother, Margarite Morrison Campbell of Tampa, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Joanne Padgett Babb and her husband, Ronnie, of Courtland; a stepson, Joel Padgett of Suffolk; three sisters, Mary Frances Best of Franklin, Betty Jo Holland of San Diego, Calif., Barbara Ann White of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Elwood Campbell and his wife, Pearlie, of Wilmington, N.C. and Carlisle Campbell and his wife, Mary, of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Jaimie Beaudette and Dana Padgett, both of Virginia Beach, and Matthew Babb of Courtland. Mr. Campbell was predeceased by his father, Barney Cicero Campbell, a brother, Billy Campbell and a stepson, Joe D. Padgett. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 7420 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk.
