CARRSVILLE - Joseph Carpenter, 57, died April 13. He was a retired sheet
metal mechanic.

Survivors include a daughter, Bernadette Carpenter of Suffolk; one son,
Joseph "Joey" Carpenter of Portsmouth; one granddaughter Kathleen Star
Carpenter of Suffolk; one sister, Estelle C. Edward of Franklin; five
brothers, Ruben Carpenter of Franklin, Ernest M. Carpenter of Colonial
Heights, Jonas P. Carpenter of Franklin, Mack H. Carpenter of Franklin
and George A. Carpenter of Illinois.

A Celebration of Life was held April 17 at 7 p.m. at Holland-Rideout
Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin, Visitation was
immediately following this service. Burial was private, April 18.
