Obituary of William Julian Carr WILLIAM JULIAN CARR Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, January 10, 2006 CARRSVILLE - William Julian Carr , 81, died Jan. 7, 2006, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, Va. He was born in Isle of Wight County, a son of the late Willie Oscar and Emily Pritchard Carr . Julian was retired as a transportation supervisor with the Isle of Wight Public Schools after 33 years service and a member of Colosse Baptist Church. Survivors include four nieces, Teresa Getz of Northern Virginia, Kathy Morgan of Warner Robbins, Ga., Debbie Corzine of Greer, S.C., and Carol Sanders of Harmony, N.C.; brother-in-law, Roger Jefferson of Claudville; a great-nephew, Julian Daniel " J .D." Getz of Northern Virginia; cousins, George "Top" Hedgepeth of Franklin, Dr. Leroy Howell of Suffolk, Dr. James Howell and Evelyn Howell, both of Portsmouth, Joe Vaughan of Smithfield, Louise Taylor of Windsor, Gladys Pope of Carrsville and Mary Virginia Cutchins of Courtland; and a special friend, Christine Spivey of Franklin. Mr. Carr was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean Jefferson and a brother, Robert L. Carr . A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Tim Webb and the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggest memorials be made to Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 27, Carrsville, VA 23315.
