Obituary of BERNARD NEWTON CARROLL The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, September 2, 1993 Bernard Newton Carroll, 79, of Route 1, Box 74, Randall Park, Pittsford, died Aug. 31, 1993, in the White River Junction Veterans Administration Hospital in Vermont. Mr. Carroll was born in Southampton County, Va., and was a former resident of Suffolk, Va. He was a retired Air Force master sergeant and a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Carrie Raiford Carroll and Lee Carroll. Survivors include his wife, Margarette B. Carroll; one daughter, Fletcher Lee Carroll Conway of Pittsford; two stepsons, Howard Callis of Suffolk and Willard Callis of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mary C. Walsh and Annie Lee C. Wilroy, both of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Carrie L. Conway and James M. Conway, both of Pittsford; five step grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. James Rall. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors.
