Obituary of TheODORIC JAMES CHANDLER The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, October 13, 1994 Theodoric James Chandler, 71, of the 300 block of Oneida Trail, Arrowhead Beach, Edenton, died Oct. 12, 1994, in his home. A native of South Boston, Va., he was the son of the late Alva and Lucy Pentecost Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a World War II Air Force veteran. For 20 years he worked as a mechanic for a Cadillac dealership. From 1965 to 1986 he co-owned and operated Chandler's Studio in Suffolk and in 1974 he served as president of the Virginia Professional Photographers Association. He was a deacon in the Bandon Chapel at Arrowhead Beach and was formerly active in youth work at First Baptist Church in Suffolk. Survivors are his wife, Jean Ashworth Chandler; three sisters, Grey C. Pattisall, Mary Virginia C. Poteat and Robbie C. Baker, all of Suffolk; two brothers, Charles P. Chandler of Suffolk and A. Briggs Chandler of Leesburg, Fla.; and 29 beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Chandler was predeceased by his daughter, Rose Marie Chandler, and son, Ted Chandler. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in Bandon Chapel in Arrowhead Beach by the Rev. Edward Earnhardt and at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Suffolk by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at R.W. Baker & Co.
