Doris Cobb Fowler, 82, died June 9, 1999, in Courtland Health Care Center. 

She was born on March 8, 1917, in Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Walter H. and Lorena Beale Cobb. Mrs. Fowler was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by a daughter, Greta Fowler Hall and her husband, Charles, of Franklin; a sister, Elsie Cobb Gwaltney and her husband, Melvin, of Smithfield; two brothers, Robert H. Cobb and his wife, Sabrah, of Sedley, and Lawrence B. Cobb and his wife, Ola Mae, of Danville, Va.; two grandchildren, John R. Hall of Courtland and Jeffrey D. Hall of Gaithersburg, Md., and his fiancee, Mandy Drake. 

A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson. The family will receive friends at the home of Greta and Charles Hall, 31085 Country Club Road, Franklin. Wright Funeral Home is in charge.
