Mrs. Cobb was born in Como, N.C., and was the widow of Gardner Elliott Cobb. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Ann Cobb Brown of Shallotte, N.C.; two sons, G. Elliott Cobb Jr. of Franklin and Col. William P. Cobb of Scott Air Force Base, O'Fallon, Ill.; one sister, Sara Whitley Hill and one brother, H.W. "Pete" Whitley, both of Murfreesboro, N.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Ben R. Duffey.
