Obituary of Craig Barton Coburn CRAIG BARTON COBURN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - May 25, 2004 Craig Barton Coburn was born Jan. 4, 1953, in Suffolk. He died Monday morning May 24, 2004, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Craig, known by his friends as "Turkey," was a lifelong resident of the Franklin area. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1972. Craig began his employment with Johnsons Auto in Franklin in 1973, where he remained throughout his life. Through this association and through his numerous selfless actions, Craig acquired many friends during his life. He devoted his life to the care of his mother and to his sisters. His devotion and care will always be remembered by his sisters and his fiancee, Barbara. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse B. Coburn and Sally Coburn Francis. Craig was also the brother of the late Trula C. Price. Craig is survived by three sisters, Sylvia C. Boykin of Franklin, Teresa L. Coburn of Easton, Md., and Michelle F. Williams and husband, Steve, of Greenville, N.C.; nieces, Heather Boykin and Kaitlin Coburn; nephews, Kyle Boykin and Brandon Collie. Craig is also survived by his fiancee, Barbara K. Joyner, whom he lovingly referred to as "Barbie." Memorial services will be held at Wright Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations in Craig B.
