Obituary of EDITH SEALE WALTON COMBS The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - February 28, 1995 Edith Seale Walton Combs, 76, a native of Southampton County, died Friday, Feb. 24, 1995, in West Melbourne, Fla. She was the daughter of the late Ivan and Loni Vick Walton. She was a 1938 graduate of Boykins High School and was employed at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard during World War II. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in West Melbourne. She is survived by her husband, Howard Lee Combs; three sons, Albert Wayne Combs of Palm Bay, Fla., Kenneth Lee Combs of Coral Gables, Fla., and Lemuel Dean Combs of Pembrook Pines, Fla.; a brother, R.H. Walton of Hopewell; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, by the Rev. Ben Thomas. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday one hour before the service.
