Howard Mooney Cronin, 87, of N. High Street, a retired wireman, died Oct. 14, 1992, in a Suffolk hospital. 

Mr. Cronin was born in Charleston, W.Va. He retired from Westinghouse Electric and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Milnor Masonic Lodge 287 AF & AM. He was the widower of Jane Stillwagen Cronin. 

Survivors include four sons, Edward C. Cronin of Franklin, Stanley W. Cronin of Jeannette, Pa., Lawrence H. Cronin of Oakmont, Pa., and William L. Cronin of Ferndale, Mich.; and four grandchildren. 

The graveside service was conducted Friday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Beatrice Green
