Mr. Culpepper was a native of Hickory, Va., and was a son of the late Dennis Eligh and Lillie Vavina Deal Culpepper. He was an Army veteran and was retired from Franklin Equipment Co. Mr. Culpepper was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Franklin Moose Lodge 1573 and American Legion Post 73. He is survived by his wife, Olie Mae Bailey Culpepper; a daughter, Catherine Jane Capps of Manassas, Va.; two sons, Dennis Culpepper Jr. of Denver, Colo., Wayne Culpepper of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a stepson, Bob Holland of Portsmouth; a sister, Elsie Gaskins of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward Johnson and the Rev. James Smith. Burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends at the residence at 128 Country Club Road and suggests that memorial donations may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, 301 W.
